Pioneer Day

If you're lucky enough to live in Utah, you get to take the 24th of July off of work.

So we had all day to have fun together.

And we had a party.

We drove up to Salt Lake to explore Temple Square.
We ran into one sister that Andrew had taught at the MTC that was exciting.

Then we got to meet up with Mandy & John and the girls at Cheesecake Factory for a delicious and fun dinner together.

Then drove back to Orem to see Rodney Atkins in concert!

We had a blast - we got to see him up close and almost caught a pick from his guitarist. And almost caught a t-shirt he threw out into the crowd.

He sang all our favorites -
These are My People
If You're Goin Through Hell
Farmers Daughter
Rock & Roll
It's America
Cleanin This Gun
& Watchin You

And we got to enjoy fireworks the whole drive home and out our front window.

It was a great Pioneer Day celebration.

  1. I missed having Pioneer Day as a holiday! Looks like you had fun. And I'm jealous you got together with Mandy and family. It was always fun to see them when they were in Utah that weekend!
