Brigham City

We had a super fun Friday evenin. We drove all the way up to Brigham City to walk through the new temple for the Open House. It was pretty cool - we got to learn a little about the history of the city and the plot of land it's built on. It's pretty impressive size for how tiny of a lot it's on. We had a lot of fun and got to try a native Brigham City restaurant while we were there.

We had an old guy take the picture who acted like he'd never held an iPhone before so he snuck his finger into the picture.

Then on the way home we stopped at the new City Creek Center in downtown Salt Lake across the street from the Temple. They've made a big deal about it and Lacie has been saying she wants to go for awhile now, but I had no idea how HUGE and how NICE the place is.  It really was impressive. It felt like we were back in Vegas. We walked around in awe for over an hour then got a nice slice of cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory and sat on one of the patios overlooking the city. It was awesome.

We highly recommend it to anyone visiting Utah.

Inside the new Stadium

Thursday night we heard really loud music coming from the stadium - and cheers. We were really curious what was going on and why we weren't invited. So we walked over and wandered on in. Turns out it was part of new student orientation. They had the new huge screen on playing a sweet highlight reel.   We stayed and listened to some of the little pep-rally they had goin on and then got to enjoy fireworks inside the stadium.  It was sick.

Baby Pictures

Lacies sister Heather is pretty good with the camera, so Lacie took Paris over to her house to take some baby photos.  These are a few samples, but not from the real camera - just from Lacies phone.

Baby Paris

Well, Liz was probably right, I maybe should have posted pictures of our baby before I posted a video about BYU football.

But let's be honest - Paris showed up in August so that she could be here in Provo for football season. That's why she came.

But - here's some pictures of her.

We woke up at 4 in the morning to be at the hospital before 5. They gave Lacie an IV and an epidural all before 6:30. Dr. Judd came around 9 and popped her. From then on out it was just a lot of waiting. We played Phase10, watched the olympics, took a nap, and Andrew got to eat both moms breakfast and lunch (that was awesome). Finally around 3:30 in the afternoon we got some excitement - Lacie started feeling her contractions big time. Really big time. So after an hour of pretty intense pain they came in and pumped her full of more drugs and helped her calm back down. After that got cleared up the nurse checked her and says "Oh - you are ready! We'll call the doctor." So they called Dr. Judd around 5 and told him she was ready to push. About 6:30 he came strolling in saying he wanted her to hurry up so he could get home for dinner.   He pulled out some huge silver spoons called forceps and at 6:51 our sweet baby girl showed up.    Dad was really really worried because she wasn't crying at all. He asked the Dr and he wasn't concerned at all, he said that not all babies cry and I'd been watching too many movies. One of the nurses said "Don't worry, I've got to make her cry right now, it's time for her shot." Then she poked her little thigh and Paris didn't make a peep. That made dad really scared. But they kept saying "She's just a content little girl."   She had her pretty blue eyes wide open the whole time.

She's been a sweet little angel ever since. She hardly ever cries and is always happy and content. We're blessed.

Mom was excited to get up and walk around the next day so we took a few laps around the nursery while she used Paris as her walker

Roy came to visit with his baby girl Annie

And Uncle Will & Uncle Tyler came to see her and brought some chocolate milk to celebrate

Little cousin Payton loved Paris. She whispered to Aunt Heather "Mom, I want one of these at home."

We even got to have four generations in one room

We got to bring her home Saturday afternoon and she started adjusting to her new home. She quickly discovered her fingers and likes to chew on them when she gets hungry.

We were told to lay her in the sun so that her jaundice would go away and she absolutely loved every minute of that

She still had more visitors come see her at home

She was very concerned at her very first doctors visit

She loved her first bath at home

She's just a sweet little angel

Lacie was very sad that her dad didn't get to come down and see her so we decided to take a long weekend in Idaho, where London & Paris got together for the first time.

London was super excited about the baby and was constantly trying to pet her.

Great Grandma Wade was really excited and happy to hold her too

Now we're back in Utah and just one big happy family
